First Residential's President and Broker-of-Record, Pete Ogilvie, with more than 33 years in the mortgage industry, was among the first brokers in California to earn the prestigious Certified Mortgage Consultant designation from the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB), and is one of the few mortgage professionals in the region authorized to display the NAMB Lending Integrity Seal.
Pete has served as statewide President of the California Association of Mortgage Professionals (CAMP) and as President of the Greater Monterey Bay Area Chapter of CAMP. He has assisted the Calif. Department of Real Estate (DRE) and the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) as a Subject Matter Expert on mortgage lending, has testified before the California Senate Banking Committee, and has spent countless hours working with members of Congress to help create legislation that protects consumers while preserving prudent and reasonable financing options for homebuyers and owners.
Ogilvie has been retained as an Expert Witness on a number of court cases involving mortgage broker practices and standards. His opinion has been sought and he has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and other print and online publications.
His favorite activity, he says, however, is working with clients on the day-to-day tasks of qualifying them for financing, getting their loan requests approved by one of the many lenders with which First Residential is an approved broker, and being there when their loan closes.
